Made it to Air: No
After the panel show had pretty much died out by the late '70s, there was a small attempt at revivals. Strangely, two of them involved quizzing the relatives of somebody famous. One of them made it to the air, 1988's misfire Relatively Speaking, while this one did not. Which is interesting, because this was clearly the better show. Norm Crosby is picked as host, possibly because there was a hope to pick up confused viewers since his name was close to "Cosby".
Norm proudly proclaims once the theme for the revival of Blockbusters finishes that there are no rules, no buzzers, no scoring system and no bonus game. Well, there are rules, since there is a time limit each panelist is allowed to ask questions to the central subject. In each case, the famous person was backstage and came out once they were guessed or the panelists ran out of time. The subjects on this show were Phyllis Diller's son, Lou Ferrigno's wife and daughter, and Jon Provost, one of the kids who played Lassie's owner.
And there it is. This isn't much of a review, because there isn't much of a show. Which in this case is not a bad thing. It was a delightful waste of a half hour. It didn't take itself seriously, despite its slightly over-the-top set of alphabet blocks. The only down thing was Melvin Belli, who was a bit overbearing. According to the credits, this was an adaptation of a British show hosted by Eammon Andrews.
